description

CHEMSET® Eco Resin is a lightly fragranced, solvent-free, non-toxic, easy to use, versatile epoxy resin. It is made using by-products from other chemical manufacturing processes. Containing more than 35% less environmentally hazardous epoxy ingredients than other doming and enamelling resins currently on the market, this is a truly innovative product that provides both a reduced carbon footprint and reduced environmental impact compared to other resins.

Eco Resin gives the same high quality finish as our other resins; it has a water-like clarity and a bright shiny surface that is both hardwearing and scratch resistant, it also has good chemical resistance to dry cleaning solvents so you can use it for buttons and other accessories for clothing.

This resin has a storage life of at least 1 year if kept in closed, damp-proof containers, out of sunlight, at temperatures between 15 and 25C.

This resin is made in the UK by RF Bright Ltd, a family owned business that specialises in resins. The product codes within this pack are:

 - Resin: Chemset ES8119
 - Hardener: Chemset ES8204

In the resin pack you will receive a 50g bottle of the active resin, and a smaller (25g) bottle of hardener in a dark glass bottle with dropper - this is so that you can accurately measure the hardener in relation to the resin you plan to use.  The hardener may yellow if exposed to light, so ensure that you keep it in the brown glass bottle, away from direct sunlight.

Instructions for use:  Mix 2 parts of Resin with 1 part of Hardener by weight. **This bit is very important: you must ensure you weigh your two components accurately or the resin may not set properly.**  Mix gently to avoid bubbles and use a flame to remove any that may have formed.  Please note the bottles supplied do not come with instructions.

This resin will readily take colour (up to 5% colour to resin) - see our range!

You will also need plastic cups and stirrers which we sell separately.  We recommend you use a good set of scales - we sell a set that we like to use which allow you to weigh even very small quantities accurately.

We recommend you use a protective barrier cream when working with resin.
